About Evan
Welcome delegates! I’m Evan, currently a junior at Arcadia High, and it’s a pleasure to serve as Co-Secretary General of the inaugural SGVMUN conference. Since joining MUN, I have attended 10+ conferences including BMUN and BruinMUN. My biggest takeaway has been making new friends and transforming my fear of public speaking into one of my strengths. Beyond MUN, I operated an online retail business for a couple of years before co-founding Everywheel in 2022, which focuses on innovative mobility solutions for wheelchair users. My hope is that everyone walks away having learned something new. Here’s to a memorable conference filled with insightful debates, creative solutions, and new friendships.

About Ashley
Hello Delegates! My name is Ashley Lim and it is my utmost pleasure to be serving as the Co-Secretary General for Arcadia High School and Breakthrough MUN’s first ever conference, SGVMUN! I am currently a junior at Arcadia High School and plan to major in Political Science on a pre-law track, hoping to work at a law firm in California. Beyond academics, I enjoy cooking and playing the drums! I started Model UN in my freshman year with an interest in improving my public speaking skills and global literacy, not expecting to be completely hooked on the activity. I have gained valuable life skills and made unforgettable memories through the amazing experiences from MUN conferences and even preparation. I took up greater responsibilities within our school club and have been helping lead it ever since, all while being able to engage in one of the best communities at various conferences all over the state. It is a long sought dream to be hosting a conference from our humble beginnings as a club recovering from the impact of the pandemic. As a Co-Secretary General for SGVMUN, I hope to create an enjoyable and smooth experience for delegates of all experience levels. Lastly, I want to thank you all for taking the time out of your busy schedules to prepare for and attend SGVMUN and welcome you to a fun conference!

Hello Delegates!
My name is Cindy and I am your director general for SGVMUN. I am currently a sophomore and have been involved in Walnut MUN for two years. In addition to MUN, I am also the founder of an organization (IgniteHER) dedicated to empowering female leaders and involved in Speech and Debate. Thanks to my experience at Walnut MUN, a smaller MUN club, I understand the struggle with accessibility many schools in the SGV region face. I am so excited to help put on a competitive and accessible conference!

About Lizzie
Hello delegates, and welcome to the inaugural SGVMUN! My name is Lizzie Gladson-Pang and I am the USG of Logistics for this year’s conference. Myself and my fellow secretariat are all hugely excited for our upcoming conference and your attendance. Personally, I myself have been a member of AHSMUN for 3 years now, as I am a current junior, and I am looking forward to this new and unique opportunity to expand my experience. While I love and appreciate MUN, I am also a cross country runner and a part of the technical theatre program here at Arcadia High. Lots of hard work and dedication has been put into SGVMUN at many different levels, and we are looking forward to seeing you there!

Hey everyone! My name is Ethan and I am your USG of Finance for SGVMUN. I am currently a sophomore at Arcadia High School with this being my second year doing Model UN. As the USG of Finance, I am responsible for overseeing all of the financial transactions and budget planning that make this conference possible and well-equipped. Outside of Model UN, you can find me playing basketball with friends, finishing the new wordle the minute it’s out, and playing the clarinet.

Hello delegates! My name is William Pan: the Under-Secretary General of Outreach at SGVMUN. As SGVMUN is its first year, I am so excited for you all to experience a never-before Model United Nations conference! I am a current Junior in high school, and I am in my third year of Model United Nations. I absolutely adore going to conferences and am a recent convert to Crisis. As cliche as it sounds, I truly understand MUN’s impact on my life: the ability to communicate effectively in speeches, through face-to-face conversations in unmods, and writing comprehensive resolutions and directives are like no other activity. Other than MUN, I work to catalyze change through a business and marketing lens; my summers are filled with MUN, listening to music, and pushing for legislative action. Thank you to all that took your time on a Saturday to attend SGVMUN. I hope you have a great time!

Welcome, Delegates! I’m Lea Wang, your Under-Secretary General of Research for the first collaboration conference hosted by Arcadia High School and Breakthrough MUN! Get ready for an unforgettable experience as we delve into uncharted territories together at SGVMUN! I am currently a sophomore at Arcadia High School, and besides MUN, I’m a participant in various clubs and Arcadia High School’s Badminton team. While this is only my first year in MUN, I know for a fact that this is where I can envision myself for the next three years. To me, MUN goes beyond just winning; it’s a magical place where I can create memories and unleash my inner diplomat with a side of camaraderie. Even though I’ve only attended a couple of conferences, I’ve already dived headfirst into a web of connections. If I’m not drowning over schoolwork or crying over Precalculus, you can always find me hanging out with my friends. Whether it’s a cozy movie night in or a brunch, I’m always in! Because let’s face it, it’s always better to laugh through the pain! As your Under-Secretary General of Research for SGVMUN, I hope to bring an exciting and enthusiastic experience for you all! Hey everyone! My name is Carissa, the USG of Tech for SGVMUN. I am a junior at Walnut High, and I’ve been a part of the WHS Model UN club since my freshman year. Some of my other hobbies include competing in Mock Trial, performing Cantonese opera, and collecting vintage vinyl records. Model UN has played an integral role in my public-speaking journey, and I am confident that you will gain something valuable from this activity. They are the advisor of the breakthrough training center model un program and have been involved in Model UN for 12 years, formerly serving on the Berkeley Model UN secretariat. Hello! My name is Sasha McConnell and this is my second year as the faculty advisor for Arcadia High School’s Model United Nations club. I am excited to be part of our first-ever conference, something that has been in the making since the summer of 2023. Besides being an advisor, I teach 9th and 10th grade English at AHS. Some of my hobbies are to relax, sleep, go shopping, cook, read, and try new breakfast spots in the LA area. It is my sincerest hope that you all have a blast, do your best, and make friends.
